DEPRESSION??

Are we sure we know the actual meaning of depression? Every time we overthink and fall into some kind of tension, we usually conclude it as depression. But is it what we actually think it is or do we need to have a note on it.

About 250 million people globally are into depression and guess what most of the cases are found to be between the age group of 15 to 29. This chronic illness even leads to suicide. About 800,000 people die every year due to this depression and yes again, the rate is highest among the youngsters.

Do you even know? Nepal has taken second place with the highest depression rate, ranking with a total of 1,424.48. Not only in Nepal but in the whole world, it is a word we throw from our ugly day out till the most overwhelming eve.

I had my bad days with depression for about six months. So here, I explain with experience. Sometimes we need to build our mental stability in such a way that even after a hectic day, we can resolve ourselves back to who we are, the same happy person no matter what we go through. If we keep our brain healthy, there’s how we fight with depression. Nowadays from the teens till the adults, we have fallen into the attraction to the relationship process. It’s not wrong at all but what we conclude from it, is, sudden heartbreaks and one takes no time to enter into depression.

In these years we have found a lot of methods and ways of curing this. Some rely on medical treatment, some undergo guidance, some with self-love and care, and some who read such blogs to know they ain`t alone. This blog post doesn’t want to motivate or encourage people. It might sound absurd but it is here for those, who say, “Keep smiling! Everything is going to be fine one day!”. No, my dear depression is not nuts to be played, “I’m FINE! I’m HAPPY!! ” can also be depression. It is something unwanted in your life, it is the uncertainty of life. Even I’m FINE also has a lot of meaning – a lot of confusion, a lot of anger, sadness, and many other sufferings.

It doesn’t get cured by “smile please”, “keep smiling”, “be positive”, “love yourself”.It is different, it needs togetherness, it needs humans, it needs understanding, it needs help. Rather everyone gives a tag of depressed or mentally ill, that worsens the state more. We need to understand that we aren’t treating the depressed well.

Most of the suicidal deaths due to depression are because of a lack of proper parenting and mutual understanding or because of loneliness. Depression is not loneliness or being alone, it is all about feeling and even one with a huge family of 10 to 20 members, can be depressed because it all counts is the feelings. We should know how a person should be treated when in depression – either it’s your partner, your offspring, your sibling, or your friend. Just talk to them rather suggesting them to be happy to watch motivating videos. Yes, this is the world where we are all into the internet and we are social even feelings are nowadays expressed on the internet.

It’s not what works in depression because depression calls for a living human – a beautiful company or we can say an “Awesome Friend. DEPRESSION is not depression, it’s an uncertainty of life that needs an understanding and strong brain to fight with it. If you are into it just believe yourself and find happiness, learn to share feelings with a trustworthy person, and if you are going through tough times, give that strong heart some time and your valuable words to cure it. We, college students and teenagers, are more likely to face such problems but as a youngster, we need to eradicate the thinking of throwing this word anywhere and everywhere. Let’s conclude with a healthy mind, a fresh start, and a lovely freed heart. LOVE ALL
