Born in Butwal, one of the major cities of Nepal, Madhav Bhusal was a brilliant student early from his beginning. He was a bright kid; need not to mention he was a topper guy since his childhood though he refuses to be called so. He is a Faculty at NAME Nursing Plus, an instructor/teacher at Butwal Pre-Medical & Pre-Engineering Institute, and an Author cum Editor at Nirvana Publication. He has done a Bachelor of Science (Physics Major) from Tri-Chandra College (TU) Kathmandu and has been pursuing MBBS at Devdaha Medical College & Research Institute.
As said earlier, Madhav was a brilliant child early from the beginning. As the old Nepali Proverb goes by, “Huni biruwa ko chillo paat, na huni biruwa ko khasro paat”, he was a keen learner, passionate and intelligent since his childhood. He was playful, too. He maintained a good relationship with his colleagues and friends. He was the apple to the eyes of his teachers. He was a great team player. He has always been giving leadership in whatever work he chooses to do. He went to Little Star Boarding High School, Rupandehi. He studied in scholarship during his schooling period.
His Educational Journey
He completed his secondary level schooling from Little Star Boarding School, Rupandehi. It was only after SLC that he first came to the capital, Kathmandu. He studied in scholarship during his +2 at Kathmandu Model Higher Secondary School, popularly known among students as KMC. He was awarded the Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship during his +2 education by the Embassy of India, Kathmandu. As a common Biology student, he also dreamt to become a medical doctor. Like all other medical aspirants, he started preparing for MBBS Entrance, too. He joined classes at NAME, the only medical entrance preparation center at that time in Nepal. He didn’t succeed in MBBS multiple times. He could have done many other courses except MBBS in scholarship, but he chose to do Bachelor in Pure Science and he started studying Physics for which his extra Math in class 12 paved the pathway. During his first year of B.Sc., he was selected to study MBBS in Egypt under MOE Scheme. He refused to disclose why he didn’t go with all those opportunities; he added it will be disclosed at the correct time.
His Career Building Period
Early from his time at Kathmandu during his medical entrance preparing time, he started teaching informally like a common student struggles. During his last year of his B.Sc., he gave the Public Service Commission (Lok Sewa) exam on Junior Flight Dispatcher (Level V) post for Nepal Airlines Corporation, the only flag carrier airlines of Nepal and he cracked the exam and interview as well. He took the responsibility. He smiled remembering his memory during his interview at NAC when the interviewers were astonished to know his capabilities and experiences he has had at that time. He had already started working as Writer & Editor at Nirvana Publication and had already worked as Teaching Assistant (TA) at the NAME Institute for Medical Education, Kathmandu. He worked for a very brief time at NAC. To our query why he left the job with a handsome salary, he smiled and told us that Government jobs are not that alluring and rewarding for people like him who have set no limits to dreams, he has no boundaries to acquire; he aims to fly very high. He remembers the moment at the then incumbent minister’s residence, when one top professor of TU told him that the job is just a level of the clerk, and, that hit him so hard, thought a lot if that was true or not.
He remembered the moment which was really a turning point of his life when he had to choose one between a political career and an opportunity to work on books for medical entrance. He chose an academic career over a political career and he mesmerizes the moment he did that. Up to this point in his life, he has worked with more than a dozen books and holds the copyrights of two books while he holds the Chief Editor of the top-selling and a most loved book named “Complete Solution” useful in the medical entrance. He revealed to us that he is working on a very new concept of a book for Medical entrance which he expects to be launched very soon.
He started working as a Faculty at NAME Nursing Plus and NAME Institute for Medical Education as a part-time faculty since June 2018. He was selected for a scholarship in merit to study MBBS in Devdaha Medical College & Research Institute in December 2018 by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology and he readily took the opportunity out of no surprise and has been currently studying there, too. He is currently engaged formally and informally too in many institutes related to medical and paramedical entrance and few +2 colleges as well.
He has actively been working as a social activist for students’ rights and welfare for very long when he started preparing for medical entrance though he strictly denies any kind of partisan involvement to date. It is of no surprise that he is student-friendly and has been helping thousands of students virtually through virtual learning platforms with his ideas, experiences, and struggle stories. He is a great motivation and inspiration to a lot of students who aim to study MBBS. His ability in public speaking and clarity on what he intends to deliver also amused us a lot.
His enthusiasm to volunteer with his knowledge and experience during this COVID-19 outbreak right from the beginning when the pandemic hit Nepal, dazzled us. He has volunteered with Nepal Health Research Council and separately with Kathmandu University, School of Medical Sciences during this pandemic and we are grateful to him.
Personally, he is a very talented, inquisitive, humble, highly dedicated and motivated, amiable, and a quick-learning youngster. His curiosity in almost everything has stunned us. He’s an inspiration to thousands of Nepali students.
